Money can be a great motivator for kids. I like my kids to constantly have the potential to earn money so that they can learn critical money-management skills. It also allows them to be responsible for buying the things they want instead of constantly asking me to get it for them. This “work for hire” system has worked great in our home. I select the chores I’d love to get done around the house (that I don’t often have time for), and they can chose from the list to earn money.
This PDF is fully customizable so you can change the chores and print off a bunch to have available for your clipboard. To put this “work for hire” clipboard together, I used hot glue to attach 6 of these clips to a clipboard. The clips and chore cards are the perfect width to fit a dollar bill (or two) folded in half nicely underneath.
